Why TibaPay exists
Too many treatments in Uganda are delayed for the simplest reason: the money is not available on the day it is needed.
The problem we work on
Health costs rarely arrive at a convenient time. A patient may be able to afford treatment across two or three months, yet not on the afternoon they are standing at the counter. Faced with that, people delay care, borrow informally on poor terms, or go without.
TibaPay narrows that gap. We settle a verified bill with a partner hospital so treatment can proceed, and the patient repays in instalments agreed in advance.

How we work
Principles we hold ourselves to
Lending into a health emergency carries obvious risks of harm. These are the rules we work by.
Decline when it would not be manageable
Approving financing someone cannot repay helps nobody. Some applications are declined, and some are approved for less than requested.
Pay the hospital, not cash to the patient
Financing settles a verified bill for treatment. That keeps the product tied to care rather than becoming general-purpose credit.
Treat health data as sensitive
Identity documents are encrypted, access is limited and recorded, and patients can ask for their data to be erased.
Who we are
The legal entity behind TibaPay
TibaPay is a product of Kuula Microfinance Company Limited, a company based in Kampala, Uganda. Kuula Microfinance Company Limited is the lender of record for financing arranged through the TibaPay app, and is the party you contract with when you accept an offer.
The name of the lender of record is shown to you in the app before you accept any financing, and appears on the terms you agree to.
